Code of Conduct
Catbird Content aims to offer a welcoming, safe, and encouraging space for people to learn and make use of content design and leadership skills. When you attend one of our online or in-person workshops, you agree that you’ll follow this Code of Conduct.
Expectations for all participants
Participation. Workshops are group endeavors to reach new understandings, together. Join as ready as you can be, reasonably free of distractions, to get the most out of the workshop.
Encouragement. We have each taken our unique path through this crazy universe, and we could all use a cheering section sometimes. As much as possible, we strive to share truths, helpful ideas, insights, necessary cautions, and kind words with people in the workshop.
Respect. Every person in the workshop is a whole person. Each of us deserves to have our names pronounced correctly, our correct pronouns used, and our stories believed. We avoid offensive comments or images related to gender, gender identity and expression, sex, sexual orientation, disability, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, age, political affiliation, or religion.
Confidentiality. Keep the names and stories of other participants private to our in-workshop community, unless you have their specific permission to share. This includes not taking screenshots or recordings of attendees without their specific permission.
In the event of a violation
If a person violates this Code of Conduct, including you, they may be warned, removed from the event, and/or banned from future events. Catbird Content will not refund workshop fees for people removed from events for violating this Code of Conduct.
Communications that violate this Code of Conduct may be deleted at Catbird Content’s discretion.
To report a violation
If an interaction related to a Catbird Content workshop has made you unsafe or feel uncomfortable, we want to know. Please use any of these means to contact us:
Send a direct message to the Catbird Content staff during the event
Send an email to info@catbirdcontent.com
If you choose to send email anonymously (for example, by setting up a one-time email address), Catbird Content won’t be able to discuss the follow-up with you. We will investigate and use what we learn to avoid future issues.
If you report a violation and wish to remain confidential, we will not name you to others. We do reserve the right to name violators of the Code of Conduct, especially if we feel we could use that information to prevent damage to others.
Thank you for adhering to this Code of Conduct at Catbird Content workshops.
